Alameda County Public Defenders have been failing to fully represent their clients, mostly African-American clients & Latinos, as a result of lack of representation. People are forced to sit in custody for months or years knowing that a Public Defender is planning to swap you out as a favor for the District Attorney. This is taking place right now in today’s time: Public Defenders fail to submit the correct motions in a courtroom, fail to file misconduct or Pitchess motions against law enforcement agencies, fail to conduct a full investigation, fail to test all evidence material such as DNA, fingerprints, photos, full surveillance video footage, alcohol & drug tests from witnesses, documents that were submitted to a magistrate judge to get a warrant issued, arresting people without a warrant, without a charge, no probation or parole violation but placed with a fraudulent hold, so that the law enforcement agencies can build a case against you.
All these are violations and due process rights violations that most people of color are dealing with. Alameda County Public Defenders refuse to address these factors. That’s why we have hundreds of African-American detainees that’s been sitting in custody for a long period of time. Because we’ve already been failed badly by Alameda County Public Defender’s Office.

Also, it’s hundreds of detainees that’s been sitting in custody for long periods of time that don’t have no discovery at all or only have partial discovery and Alameda County Public Defenders have failed to properly give their clients 100% full discovery, because their plan is to fail their client and make money off of a human life.
Look it up and you’ll understand what I see all the time. Many housed inmates have dealt with a serious violation against him or her, from law enforcement agencies, district attorneys, attorneys, crime scene analysis. We need the federal courts to investigate these huge matters right now.
This is beyond cruel and unusual punishment. This is slavery on a different term. Alameda County Public Defender’s Office needs to be investigated for the lack of work they do.

I’ve been in custody for 22 months and an Alameda County Public Defender never produced no discovery for me the whole time in custody – I can’t defend myself at all going forward. This takes place all the time in Alameda County. My rights have been violated badly.
