The most important thing is for them to know is that the jail is lying to people about how much they are testing. They are not offering the test to everyone. Since March 2020 they have not offered the test to every inmate, so not every inmate has been tested. They are not getting accurate results. They are not doing the procedures the right way. The first time they tested me in July they swabbed the back of my throat. Today they are swabbing just inside the nostril, near the opening, never going down my nasal passageway.
I am in 24 west, E pod and we are a high risk pod. They have us with pregnant woman, elderly woman and high risk medical condition inmates as well as newly quarantined inmates straight from off the street. All in one pod. How does that make sense? And a lot of these people have not been tested. Was that by choice? Or because the jail has not offered to test them? Today they only tested about 4 people in the pod. They aren’t doing the tests right, so they don’t have accurate test results. I don’t have faith in the tests. How are they getting accurate samples from just swabbing the tip, near the opening of my nose, there is no mucus there. Also I am not high risk or quarantined so why am I in here? Where do I belong?

When COVID first happened, they kicked all of us out of E pod and put moved us to S pod, to create a high risk pod. Two months later they moved us back in without testing us first and mixed us with the high risk inmates. We are still mixed with the high risk inmates and the newly quarantined inmates.
The jail has a number of empty housing units that they could open up to create quarantine only housing unit, but they are choosing to not to do that because they are too cheap. And our lives are not worth the expense in their mind.
There is a elderly inmate who cleans our pod every morning without gloves and her hands are bleeding. They won’t give her gloves. Deputy Sensibil is not giving her gloves. And they will not let the pod workers clean our pods every day and they won’t let us either.
Another disturbing this is that when the east side of our housing unit is quarantined they close the obgyn clinic where they do lab work. So when the east side is quarantined the clinic is closed and they do blood work on the west-side day room tables. It is not properly hygienic, they don’t disinfect the tables correctly. They lay out these pads, they are like doggy training pads to take your blood. They should not use the day room tables for lab work.
When Sabot consulting, who is supposed to monitor the jail’s response to COVID, comes to the jail “unexpectedly,” its not unexpectedly. When they arrive at the jail, the staff calls all the housing unit to say they are here. Usually the deputies are not always wearing masks and the inmates are not always wearing masks, the cameras will prove this. But I am in housing unit 24 so by the time Sabot gets back here we are all compliant. They do not surprise any of the housing units because we have been given notice. So giving the jail an A plus on the report card is a joke.

Last week I had a panic attack that was caused by a deputy after they refused to go over a police report with me. And when I was taken to the nurse, the nurse never listened to my heart rate but told me I had a high heart rate. They are so inefficient, they never listened to my heart beat. I forgot my mask and when I asked for one they told me not to worry about it. I was not provided a mask.
The following day I was seen by a doctor who listened to my heart beat when I was calm. He ordered an EKG and said it would be done in a few days. Now it is the end of the week and I am still waiting. My psychiatrist let one of my important psychiatric meds expire today and now my anxiety is elevated again. The COVID situation in here increases my anxiety and depression.
I am waiting for a prison bus, although I technically have time served but they won’t release me. The prison bus may not come to get me because this jail is intentionally not being transparent with their COVID numbers about who is really infected and who is being tested.
They don’t let us out for pod time, because I am whistle-blower they often don’t let me out for pod time to retaliate against me. And it then screws up pod time rotation for other people which creates a negative atmosphere towards me.
We are supposed to get masks at least once a week, usually on Sundays. But they don’t sometimes. They used to pass out soap but they haven’t done that in months. When I started complaining to my lawyer who then complained to the jail they put up a sign by the pod door saying if you need wipes, masks, or soap ask a deputy. But a lot of inmates don’t know how to read, making this sign useless for some. Many inmates will not come out of their cells let alone ask for soap, masks or wipes.
