Prisoner explains: “they don’t abide by their own rules”

All jails have a written program that they’re supposed to follow. But they don’t abide by their own rules. There’s signs posted on the wall with rules they’re supposed to follow, like out of cell time, pod time, and recreation. But if they don’t feel like letting us out, they don’t let us out. This is their livelihood – this is their business. A Top Ramen soup in here costs $1.13. If you got money, you’re gonna eat. If you don’t have money, you’re not gonna eat. I talk to my kids every day even though GTL costs an arm and a leg.

I got sick a couple months ago – runny nose, headache, and not able to taste. Similar to a flu. They wouldn’t give me a test. Nothing will be the same after this, just like with an earthquake…I think that zero bail is a political move – if you give some people a chance, you should give everybody a chance.
